About Danielle Burns

Danielle Burns is a Louisiana-based artist and educator working across printmaking, drawing, and mixed media. Her practice combines traditional and experimental printmaking techniques with drawing, painting, and digital processes. Her earlier work examined societal complacency, environmental concerns, and the ways individuals respond to uncertainty. More recent bodies of work explore memory, personal history, and the significance of everyday experiences. Drawing from personal photographs, familiar spaces, and inherited materials, Burns creates layered compositions that reconsider the relationship between imagery, memory, and the passage of time.

Burns received a BFA in Painting and a BS in Art Education from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009 and an MFA in Printmaking from Louisiana State University in 2012. She is currently an Associate Professor of Visual Art at Baton Rouge Community College, where she teaches drawing and printmaking. A member of Baton Rouge Gallery since 2018, Burns has exhibited nationally and internationally, including exhibitions in Canada, Ireland, and Japan. Her work is held in permanent collections at the Savannah College of Art and Design, California State University at Fresno, Concordia University in Montreal, and Old Dominion University, among others.
