Recognitions emerged during quarantine, when working from home slowed the pace of daily life and the hours began to stretch and blur together. Seeking moments of distraction from the enormity of the pandemic, I began revisiting photographs from my recent past. Familiar scenes and narratives took on new meaning as once-mundane experiences suddenly seemed both reckless and underappreciated. I became interested in how quickly perception and memory can shift with circumstance, changing the way we interpret experiences that once seemed unremarkable. Recognitions explores these shifts in perspective, reconsidering familiar moments through new connections, associations, and interpretations.
